Higher and Higher

The construction of the Director’s house is moving along. We may have to call a “time out” for a bit due to finances,  but it will get finished in God’s perfect timing.

Just a few photos to Enjoy

Sverre was able to get our donated wagon put together–it was missing some parts when it arrived. The children LOVE to be pulled around the yard in it! It really only hold 4 kids at a time, but often there are at least 6 crammed in. We call it our “little red dahla-dahla”  A dahla-dahla is the local transport here, which is a 15 passenger van, in which they crowd at least 23 people in.

One day Fatina (Mama Musa), Sverre and I were taking some medical donations to the local maternity clinic. He snapped a photo of us ladies.

Sverre also took this picturesque one of some of our caregivers in their colorful wraps.

“Diagnosis” for Paul?

A former volunteer saw our blog about Paul, and sent me a link to an article about a 12 year old girl who was the size of a six month oldd. She has had genetic and hormonal testing done and they can’t find the problem, so the medical field are calling it Syndrom X. The girs is now nearly 17 years old and about 11 month old size. It seems to be the same thing that our Paul has.

I have written a letter to the Doctor who treats Brooke Greenberg in Maryland, to see if we can compare the two and see if it is in fact the same syndrome.

If he stays baby size and mentally, then I guess Paul will become a permanent resident of Cradle.

Farewell to a Friend of Cradle

I just found out this week that a wonderful, Christian lady by the name of Wally Natzke died on February 2nd. She was a friend of Cradle of Love, although no one but me from Cradle had ever met her. She was wheelchair bound and suffered from severe health problems, but she was always full of smiles and praising the Lord. She was an expert seamstress and although she could no longer use her hands to cut out fabric (she had a helper do this for her. Thanks Karen!!) she sewed beautiful quilts and tote bags with the CoL logo on them, as well as cuddly receiving blankets, bibs, burp cloths, and was about to begin making us crib sheets.

Wally was an inspiration to me and my annual visit with her and her husband Norbert, will be missed.

Rest until Jesus comes, Wally–you deserve a good sleep!

This morning the other and twin sister of Paul were brought for a special visit. I had requested Help for the Maasai to let us get photos and growth comparisons to show the Dr. when we go.

You can see from these photos the vast difference in size and development of the twins. They will be 3 years old in May. His sister is underweight as well, but at least she walks and acts more like a 2 year old.
