Time To Reflect
December 31st, 2009 by Davona
The last day of a year brings one to a time of reflection on past year and pondering what the new year will hold.
Here are a few of God’s blessings to Cradle of Love in 2009:
- Finished building the special care nursery and occupied it in April. We now have 8 babies in there.
- Had our highest donation months in June/July–thank you all!
- Continuing to have superb volunteers come to help us in many areas of the running of the Home
- Up to our highest baby count at one time–42
- First litter of shih tzu puppies which brought in over 2000 dollars for the Home
- Began construction on the staff house for current and future directors
I am certain I have forgotten many things, because God has blessed the Home, staff and babies so much. Even in a time of worldwide financial struggles, He takes care of our needs!
Thanks to all who give of their means, their time, and their prayers for Cradle of Love Baby Home. May you be blessed for your selflessness.
We received an abandoned baby girl on Dec 24th, who was found in the streets of Arusha. Mary is about 3 months old and very healthy.
Yesterday we had visits from two of our graduates and their families. What a super day. Jacob Bahati Cook came all the way from Dar to visit with his parents, Sam and Neil and little sister, Mara. (Mara came from an orphan center in Dar) Later in the day, Jo Bailey came with her parents ( who have visited before and I never knew they were related to Jo!), her mother in law and of course, Lara! (Carolina) It was nice for the two families to meet and I loved seeing Jacob and Lara again. Lara and Mara are just a couple of weeks apart in age.
Happy New Year to you all!
Love, cuddles, patience and grace to you all. Hope this coming year brings many more blessings, may you rise to new challenges and smile a whole lot xxx
wishing you peace and love for the coming year. may your arms and hearts be ever ready to meet the needs of those who are lucky enough to find thier way to you
