Rain, Glorious Rain!
October 27th, 2009 by Davona
The early rains have arrived in abundance and all nature is rejoicing! The brown lawns are lush and green once more, the hedges have unfurled their shriveled leaves and the termites are swarming and ants are moving house!
We got a new baby about 10 days ago. Her mother was trying to harm her and she was rescued by neighbors. Her mom is now in the psychiatric ward of the hospital and Karen is with us. Sorry I don't have a photo yet. She is about 5-6 months old.
Carolina's father has still–after 10 months–not come to sign relinquishment papers. We are all very very upset and disappointed by his uncaring, irresponsible behavior. He is treating this precious little girl like a commodity and trying to weasel something for himself, out of the process.
Maria's mom is working on getting a birth certificate for us and also is going to sign papers to make Max and I her legal guardian. She spent the day at the lawyers today, but wants her brother to read and approve the affadavit before she signs. This makes sense as she does not read English and they are prepared for the court in English. Maria has already moved in with our family. Such a dear little 3 year old, but still a bit insecure and a bit clingy. That's OK. She and Staci get along well during the day, but when evening comes and Staci is tired, she does show a bit of jealousy. That's expected, as she has been Numero Uno for the past 5 years!
I am going to ask my volunteers to write some more blogs!
Your adopting again???? Dont you have enough children!!! haha! Thats amazing!! We are all praying for this new adventure!
I am so so happy for little Maria. I have always adored her and am so glad that she will now have a forever family. Feel heart broken for poor Carolina and her prospective adoptive family and her biological family…very sad situation indeed. Still, I keep hoping for a happy ending there. On our end, we had our happy ending today with Clara Shei – finally today we received the adoption order in the High Court this morning….Akira, Clara Shei and I are a family!
I’m so happy for all, especially Staci and Maria! They will definitely be able to stir up some trouble! And now, Staci will get some help monitoring all of those babies!
Im really happy that you are taking care of Maria!
Congratulations on the new addition to your family! That is so exciting. Maria is blessed and lucky to have found her forever family.
We love your blogs!!!! Keep writing! xx
So glad Maria is being taken care of by your family! Thanks for the update.
