This morning one of my staff was on the phone and when she got off, she said "Davona, Asha died."  We have a nanny who is Asha, so I asked "Asha, who?"  Turns out it was the Regional Social Welfare Officer that I work with!  She was getting ready for work this morning and dropped dead–a stroke most likely as she suffered from high blood pressure. She was about in her mid-50's.

Not only are we sad about her death, but this will slow things down MORE for adoptions in this area. We hope that a replacement is found quickly and that it is a person who has a real heart for the best interest of the children.

So sad to hear of Asha’s passing.
She showed compassion to us when we first met Jacob Bahati – while there were procedures to follow, she was wise enough to see that we had bonded as a family and did her very best to help us so that we would not need to be apart while paperwork was completed.
Rest in peace Asha – you will always have a special place in our family’s hearts.
