Return from Safari

Max, Staci and I returned this week from a 9 day safari to the western side of Tanzania. We drove through the Serengeti to the town of Mwanza, located on the southern tip of Lake Victoria. The Serengeti is a vast plain, where many animals congregate. We were not there to watch the animals, but just in passing through we saw 14 different species; Secretary birds, hippos, zebra, giraffe, elephant, wildebeast, buffalo, lion, vultures, eagle, wart hog…

While in Mwanza I was privileged to visit my friends Ben and Amy Hathaway and their two children, Barnabas and Tia. They are also going to be adopting a new baby, Molly, who is three months old and a dimpled darling! Amy helps run the Forever Angels Baby Home.

Max had meetings with his ADRA staff there, so Staci and I hung around, filling in our time. I read a lot and Staci played in buckets of water.

We are very thankful to be back home, after many long hours on bumpy, dusty roads. I don't think I want to do that trip again, until the new paved road has been completed!
